Whitehaven and it's history
A labor of love!
Whitehaven was built in 1860 and was a
Coaching Inn on the old road west from Providence, located on
what is now known as Route 44. The old barn still has evidence
of it's historic usage.
In the 20 century it was a large chicken
farm and a number of the outhouses show signs of its
original 'occupants'.
The main house has been lovingly updated and
restored to reflect it's former nineteenth century origins.
The house sits on 5 acres.
Plans are well under way towards the
restoration of 'The Coop'. 'The Coop' was originally the
groundsman's house. In the 20th century it was part of the
chicken farm.
We have a five year plan to restore the
outhouses and redesign the gardens. This will
include water features and a swimming pool.
